The people in our group who had at least some understanding of Maths and Physics enjoyed the book. Those that did not have even a basic understanding did not. We thought the structure of the interviewer meeting people from another time frame was a bit thin. |

Most enjoyed the book and were interested in finding out more about Einstein. There was a great deal of discussion, not only about Einstein's theories, but scientific discoveries in general. |

The discussion went really well but only one person 'enjoyed' it. Members would have preferred a novel with a point to it, or some excitement. |

This was an interesting read in that some of our members really enjoyed it, and gained knowledge from it. Others struggled as although written for lay people, some had some knowledge of Einstein's theories and found it tedious and uninteresting in places. |

Most struggled with motivation to read this novel, in part the content (physics) but also the style, maybe something got lost in the translation? We did have a great discussion and more than one person said they gained greater understanding from our chat than from the book! We each brought quotes attributed to Einstein to share and these opened further discussion paths. Keeping in mind that it is a novel, not a biography, we all agreed that this book didn't enlighten us the way we had hoped it might, and we were left wondering how accurate this portrayal of Einstein actually was. |
