Auckland 172 This was a hard one to start with, but most persevered and found it very rewarding. It provoked a very lively discussion on all sorts of topics. Auckland 122 We had a great discussion about this book - several of our members did not like it but most were carried away by the writing. If one had the time, we agreed, every chapter deserved at least an hour to get the most out of it. A great read, but it helps to have some background knowledge. Wellington 074 A mixed reaction. Some couldn't get into it at all; others had read it before for English Literature. Not an easy read, but beautiful prose.
