The writing style drew everyone in and along with the wit, humour and wonderfully written characters most loved this book. There were comments about how small the characters' world was and that it made it hard to relate to their situation and characters. Others felt the issues that occupied their world were still valid today. Plenty of discussion on how vital marriage was and how precarious a lot of women’s situation was until that status was achieved.

Everyone loved this book. Most of us had read it in high school or as young adults, and loved revisiting it and picking up new things, and seeing things from a different perspective with a few years behind us. And others that had never read it were pleasantly surprised at how much they liked what they thought would be a boring classic.

This is my favourite book, so this is very biased feedback. Fabulous, witty, timeless, ands with a happy ending. More like this please!

We enjoyed renewing our acquaintance with this classic. T.V. images of the characters lessened the enjoyment of the novel for some members!

Most people enjoyed 'Pride and Prejudice' - the first time the group as a whole enjoyed and agreed about a book, however the discussion wasn't as good as when we all disagree!

Great read, enjoyed it much better the second time around. You interpret things differently, and appreciate different parts of the novel, with the benefit of age and experience of life.

Poor turnout to discussion evening so comments were lacking - I personally enjoyed the book's humour. A lovely love story, though the manners of the day were frustrating at times.

Most were upset that there was no scene in the book where Mr Darcy walked through the lake in his wet shirt. The ladies were most disappointed! Easy to read for those who did and the ladies all read it but the mem were not up to the task.
