Our group loved this book and felt it was one of the best we had read. An insight into local culture and traditions, the determination and devotion of a volunteers, combined with his compassion and desire to help the children saw him grow over the years. We felt emotion and heartache, as well as enjoying the love he shared. |

Being parentless, homeless, stateless and with no way out, yet still laughing and giving of themselves, is hard to imagine. |

Our group learned a lot about Nepal after reading this book. The setting up of a charity was also a good topic for discussion. A couple of members contacted the author and are still in touch with the charity and receive updates about the children throughout the year. |

A very mixed reaction - some loved it and some couldn't get into it at all. The people who loved it found it very inspirational, but others did not find the author very credible and didn't enjoy his writing style. |

Everyone found the book thought provoking and inspiring. It was a gripping book, and hard to put down. There was no attempt to make Conor or any of the other people working in Nepal appear to be anything other than human. Yet they succeed in their small way in making a difference. |

All enjoyed the book. A well-written, 'feel good' story which also prompted discussion about Nepalese history, and the struggles before and since the overthrow of the Royal family. |

We all absolutely loved this book. Amazing what Conor achieved when he was so young. It certainly gave you an insight into child trafficking and the widespread nature of it, plus the difficulty of managing the problem. |

Very bingeable. It sounds like it would be a miserable read but it is an interesting and heart-warming read. We were all glad we read it. You can get follow up information by looking at the NGN newsletters on their website and seeing the work that has been done since the book. |
