Focusing on before and after the 2019 Christchurch terror attacks and including the 2022 occupation of parliament, this book details an eye-opening investigation into the hate groups who threaten New Zealand's democracy and way of life.

No one read it entirely. Too much detail and repetition. Some were more interested in the psychology of why people believe... Not a favourite read but confirmed what we know about many aspects of the 'underworld'.

A number of our members did not complete this read. Those that did found it quite repetitive and not the most stimulating although there were a couple of members who found it confronting and 'scary'. One question asked was "What can we do about this influence that is permeating society by stealth?" There was good discussion around this but no answer found.

The group found this book very well-written, alarming and enlightening, although only 6/9 read it to the end. Some were disappointed as it was more of a textbook than a novel. It led to a very good discussion about the Parliament sit-down/occupation, and the shock felt that it deteriorated into such violence in N.Z. Everyone praised the amount of research involved.

We had a very animated discussion about this. Half the group only read a few chapters. The rest of the group thought it was an important book. All of us agreed it was badly written and in need of an index.
