Description: We all know what it means to be 'under the weather' in terms of our own health but in this book about New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and climate change, it is the perfect description of the current state of play as the planet/world heats up. Balancing explanations about the cause and effects of climate change, with possible solutions, Professor Renwick applies his considerable experience and an evidence-based approach to the challenges that face agriculture and food security, the economy and our lifestyles.

Compelling and hopeful, this is an authoritative examination of what the future could and should hold for us.

This book was easy to read. The technical issues were explained in very plain language. It is disturbing that so few people and countries are taking effective and aggressive action over climate change.

Well-written but scary and depressing. We learnt a lot about weather and climate change. Felt he was very brave as a scientist to write this book, and it was so readable. Even if people read it, it will make a change - we all felt rather helpless. Especially after the N.Z. Budget! Two were inspired to march against the 'Fast Track' bill!

Members of our group were agreed on the value of this topic and several would like to buy personal copies. The book is well organised, with an accessible, chatty style of writing. Inclusion of an index would have been helpful.
