Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 resulted in what has been described as the biggest armed conflict in Europe since WWII. In this extensively researched account of the first nine months of the war, foreign correspondent Luke Harding reports from the frontline, providing compelling coverage of a geopolitical crisis that has changed the course of history.
From the build-up to the invasion and the stories behind the headlines through to portraits of the leaders from both sides and the chances of peace breaking out, this book offers unique insights from an award-winning author, who is on the Kremlin's official blacklist.

This was certainly well-written and researched but a grim read. It was good to have the 'background' of the conflict explained. Three years on, the war shows no sign of ending any time soon. |

Our entire group appreciated having read 'Invasion' as it puts the people into the early years of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It is not a book to read for enjoyment - several of our members were not able to read it at night. |

Most of the group found it very interesting. A few felt they had had enough on the topic in the news, and really didn't want to know any more. |

Only three people out of 11 people read this book. It felt very confronting as much of this is in the news. The three of us who read this book really enjoyed the descriptive language and mastery of the author. |
