Varied reaction within the group - one group member who is herself a G.P. said she really enjoyed it. Others didn't like the essay style of writing and found it unsatisfying.

Felt like reading a series of blog posts. Well-written and insightful but lean on deeper details. Definitely not going to Middlemore Hospital, ever!

Only one person really enjoyed it but it did provoke a lot of very interesting discussion, so was a good book in that respect.

'There's a Cure For This' promoted the most animated discussion our group has ever had. One member read it twice and felt it had its finger on the pulse of N.Z. today. Others found it disjointed and challenging. All agreed a good writer.

An interesting journey into the author's culture and heritage, in a N.Z. setting - especially considering the current state of the health system.

Book created a lot of discussion - an easy read but most of us found it didn't flow well. Had to remind ourselves it was a memoir. We all felt we learnt a lot from this book and we were particularly impressed with Emma's mother's efforts to support her learning Te Reo.
