Gone to Ground was a very enjoyable read, as agreed by all of the group. Very believable and likeable characters, although the thought of corrupt U.N. workers was a little disturbing, and it would have been good if there had been more detail on the subject.

A light 'Mills and Boon' type of read. Easy to read.

Most of the group enjoyed this fast-paced engaging story. Apart from the love story ( divided opinions on this) the setting of the book and the dangerous operations were a new theme for us which we appreciated - though the plot was pretty predictable.

Most members enjoyed the fact that this was a fast paced read in a linear style, with good Aussie humour in places. Lightweight.

We felt this was an easy read, but the romance elements diminished a good plot - hence the lower score.

The focus on the romance came at the expense of more detail on the exploitation of the locals, while the blurb for the book creates an expectation that this is what the book is about. But it was still a good read!

This book was a good, easy read. One felt compelled to keep reading, however it felt a bit contrived with all the convenient coincidences.

A very popular choice. Readers enjoyed the excellent writing style and storyline - also to learn more about the setting and political climate of the area, including the role of the U.N.

We all thoroughly enjoyed this book. We felt the note writer's depiction of it as a 'romance novel' was incorrect. We all felt that the romance part was a very minor part of the story which was about far more serious issues.

A good holiday read. Really a romantic novel, but the author introduced us to child exploitation in the Congo diamond mines, and the corruption that happens in Africa. Well-written.

We agreed it was a good holiday read because of the adventure of it. Disagreed with the reviewer referring to it as a romantic novel.
