Description:

Is it a bird? No. Is it a plane? Well, yes it is, and flying it is none other than superwoman Ameliah Scott. Covering 200 000 square kilometres of outback New South Wales, Ameliah provides a mobile veterinary service, reaching her isolated customers in her trusty Cherokee Arrow. Ameliah's unique blend of occupations as a vet, pilot and farmer, as well as being a mother, ensures a busy, varied and fascinating life, which is vividly presented in this entertaining and informative memoir.

A light read with interesting information on the Australian outback and animals farmed there. Her work as a vet was challenging and she came across as a determined, practical and brave woman. |

We found this to be a light but reasonably entertaining book, describing Ameliah's life and career in very inhospitable outback conditions. Cattle were the main focus of her veterinary career, although a few other animals featured. |

This story was enjoyed as an interesting, easy to read book. We learned about the trials of being a large animal vet flying miles to get to patients, and her loving the outback working in harmony with her Dad and husband, while producing babies. |

Great insight into life in the Australian outback - it's a different world. Determined, feisty vet - inspiring. Writing style a little dry. |

We all really enjoyed it. Great pace, "just enough" detail about the various topics covered. A rollicking read. |
