Description:
|
Imagine being a highly successful covert special operations agent during WWII, and telling no-one - not even your family - of these exploits. Pippa Latour is one such person, and this is the story of her remarkable life. Born and raised in Africa, with a childhood marked by tragedy, at 23 Pippa was trained by the British for her role as a wireless operator in northern France, leading up to D-Day. Engaging and inspiring, this matter-of-fact memoir reveals the quiet courage and astonishing feats of an unsung hero, one who found her way to NZ shores in 1959.

The majority loved it. One felt the writing was rather lightweight in comparison to the amazing story and life of Pippa. |

We loved the book, a great read for the start of the year. Pippa was an amazing, almost fearless girl during her exploits during WWII. Well-written, we liked the conversational style. A book everyone in our group enjoyed reading. |
