Description:

Lula Dean of the Concerned Parents Committee of Troy, Georgia, takes it upon herself to decide what the townsfolk should or shouldn’t be reading. After successfully having some books banned from the public library, Lula starts her own wee lending library in front of her house, with selected titles only, of course. When someone swaps out the book covers right under Lula’s nose, before they know it, these good townsfolk are reading those banned books … Provocative and engaging, this is an entertaining story with interesting themes around censorship and morality, and a timely reminder of the power of books to change lives for the better.

90% of us liked the book, very easy read, we liked the humour and the fact that it was original. It did raise a lot of issues about banned books, underlying issues on differences of opinions around topical subjects. It had a satisfying and amusing ending. |
