Description: The trajectory of travel writer and itinerant journalist Gabriel Dax’s life is forever changed, when an interview he undertakes with the prime minister of a newly emerging African nation brings him to the attention of MI6. Recruited into the murky world of Cold War espionage, Gabriel is soon gallivanting around Europe with his day job providing perfect cover. Balancing the intrigue and deception of spycraft with Gabriel’s childhood trauma and intransigent insomnia, this is a clever and satisfying spy thriller with an engaging and likeable protagonist.

Comments from BDS Reviewers:

"I think this book would appeal to men and women equally, and especially those who enjoyed 'The Avengers' with Diana Rigg and Patrick Macnee."

"The perfect length and very well-written. The book passes the test of being one I should like to have written."

"This novel is very satisfying. On the surface it combines a light spy thriller and a simmering love story but it is much more than that."

"It perfectly balances its believable storyline with its engaging characters. The characters add depth with their human frailties."

"The story twists and turns in unexpected ways which kept me turning the pages, but it neither jars nor stretches credulity."

"Gabriel is a more multifaceted character than typical spies are often portrayed."

"A great read for lovers of this genre and time in history."
