Description:

No-one is mourning the death of Glen Taylor, least of all his widow Jean; she considers herself well rid of 'all of his nonsense'. She did her time standing by her man when he was accused of the abduction of a toddler, but now he is out of the picture, she is free to step out from behind his shadow and reveal ... nobody knows just what she will reveal, how much she knows and just what she should have known.
Giving voice to the experience of a spouse in the orbit of an evil-doer, this intriguing psychological thriller with its clever use of multiple narrators is gripping from beginning to end as the real Jean is slowly unveiled. [Larger font]

A good read and lots of discussion. Did she know or didn't she? Not as clear cut as it appears initially. Well-written. Would recommend to both female or male readers. |

Most agreed it was a light read that had just enough interest to encourage the reader to keep reading. |

All but one of our group enjoyed this book. Quite mixed thoughts on how we each interpreted the ending. Learnt a lot about chat rooms. |

We enjoyed the different perspectives, but found the subject matter difficult. Not a genre many of us read but story flowed well. Suspenseful! |

Well-written, heart-wrenching. We particularly enjoyed the relationship between the press and the Police team. |

A good book and relatively easy read. Many felt that it didn't live up to its accolades. Extreme characters and the questions generated good discussion. Disturbing subject matter, but for most of the group the reader was an observer rather than being deeply involved in the story. |

We thought it was excellent writing - very compelling and un-put-downable! Had a big discussion about all the main participants - they became almost real. |

We were evenly divided on this; half the group disliked the book, the others enjoyed it. All thought it was a quick read, and that alternating the story between viewpoints was a clever tool which worked well. |

We all enjoyed this read; it really does bring home that some women just stay in bad relationships - and for what |

Overall, a good book. A bit too 'jumpy' so sometimes hard to keep up. Most of us enjoyed reading it, but also found it depressing somehow. |
