Excellent book notes and questions. Many felt the writer too self indulgent and not very likeable. Nevertheless there were profound experiences that many could relate to. |

Well-written. We are a group of medically trained individuals who found this 'autobiography' raised many questions about timely health interventions. We felt the author was in a privileged position such that she could indulge herself while the rest of the family coped around her. |

This book met with very mixed opinions. One member who had had a similar near-death experience felt Charlotte's story was self indulgent, and let her experience define her. There were flashes of beautiful word pictures and her descriptions of Ripiro Beach and its healing qualities was something we could identify with. However, overall we found it difficult to fully engage with the story. |
